Day 5
Another beautiful day in the Mexicali Valley to wake up to. Sunny skies and around 80 degrees greeted us once again.
We continue to labor with joyful hearts in various locations.
The posts are going in quickly on the fence that is going to enclose the new property in Victoria. We have completed two sides. A gang of 12 went back after lunch today to complete another. A great team of students led by Tim Bennion and Dave Shunk have become a machine of workers. Some are measuring and marking the holes, others are digging the holes, others are mixing the concrete one wheelbarrow at a time, and others are shoveling the concrete into the holes while someone holds it into place and makes sure it touches the tight line the runs from one side to the other. You would be very proud to see that they are doing a professional job.
The medical clinic ministered today in Col. Juarez under the direction of Dr. Buie. Dan Collins is doing a superb job of translating while nurse Jill Chase and her student nurses take temperatures and blood pressure. They are really feeling used by God and greatly appreciated by the people of the small town, many to poor to ever afford the opportunity to see a doctor.
In Victoria, the VBS team continues to prepare for each days craft. Another group of students cleaned out one of the Sunday School rooms and prepared it for painting. Also in Victoria, they raised all four walls at around 12:00 pm for the new medical clinic building. Mark Adkins is doing a great job of teaching a small group of students how to do construction work. Among them are Tyler Taggart, Brian McConnell, Tim Wood, Brendan Goodnough, and Ryan Erickson.
Please continue to pray for our health. Some have sore throats. Some have fevers like Teal Martin and David Chase. Who knows what else everyone’s getting? This I know, the work and ministry continue to go forward as others step up to help and give of their talents and abilities.
Thanks for coming along with us for the ride and being there for us with your prayers,
Mexico Team
