Egypt: Highlights
Egypt 2006 August 10th, 2006 by GraceNow that I’ve got that pesky airline thing out of the way I figured I’d try and sum up part of my trip in highlights.
*Blessing and loving the Sudanese children
*Seeing the Pyramids at Giza and the Sphinx
*Taking my English students out to Chinese and Korean food
*Making friends with the guys at the English second-hand bookstore, to the point where he lets me look at the new books that haven’t even been shelved yet
*Taking a conversational Arabic course
*Exploring the Egyptian Museum
*Sailing on a felucca on the Nile at sunset
*Surviving the traffic of Cairo, where the ration of crosswalks to people is, I think, 1 to 16 million
*Climbing Mt. Sinai at night and watching the sunrise
*Snorkeling in the Red Sea
*Visiting the orphanage
*Making friends
*Feeling purposeful
*Feeling frustrated
*Feeling challenged
*Practicing submission
*Getting a lot of ideas for things to do back home!
